Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Shop Support - Shipping & Receiving (Avon, MA)  Description POSITION SUMMARY: Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipments. Provide support in production sign shop and other departments as needed.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Assembles packaging and inserts items into boxes using spacers / fillers and protective padding if required. Prepares shipping labels via computer on shipper’s web site / portal. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments as required and denotes damaged items, shortages and if required corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Route incoming packages to applicable recipient.   OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate material handling equipment including fork lift. Maintain clean work area. Pull and trim aluminum for signs. Cut wood for construction signs. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well. Two years shipping, receiving, stock and warehouse experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and good communication skills required. Computer skills to enter shipping information on vendors web portal(s). Work with minimal supervision and under established deadlines. Lift 50 lbs and stand /walk/bend majority of shift. Use power tools including saws.
