Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

The Infant Toddler Service Coordinator provides services for children from birth to three years old and their families to assist families in helping their child learn and develop during everyday activities. Individualized supports and services are outlined in the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). As the leader of the early intervention team implementing a child’s IFSP, it is the responsibility of the Infant Toddler Development Specialist to work closely with family and professionals to determine goals, monitor progress, and make adjustment to the child’s plan based on child’s growth and development while adhering to all Virginia early intervention regulations. This is a dual role in which this person may also be required to provide direct developmental services as outlined on an IFSP with a child and family. This employee will work closely with local school divisions to promote successful transitioning of children out of early intervention services by the time the child is three years old and no longer eligible for services. The employee reports directly to the Infant & Toddler Connection System Manager.

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Serve as a team leader within a multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, implement necessary supports, and other services.
  • Utilize coaching practices within a child's natural learning environments to build parent capacity to help their child develop to their highest potential.
  • Conduct regular face-to-face visits with with families and providers to monitor a child's developmental progress.
  • Complete intakes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Primary Education, or Health & Human Services, and
  • Corresponding licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
