Share Email Opening Title Civil Project Engineer  Description Somat Engineering, Inc. (Somat) has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Engineer at our West Bloomfield, MI office. We are seeking energetic and personable experienced engineers who are interested in growing their career in this field. We are looking for civil project engineers that bring strong analytical skills, solution-oriented knowledge, and collaborative attitudes that seek to apply great creativity to projects. They will collaborate closely with other engineers and project managers to translate creative vision into functional designs and processes. Some of the types of activities that they will be involved with are: Site Civil Design including storm water, sanitary, watermain, pavement, and grading design for site and subdivision plans Water main and Sewer Design Production of site civil plans, grading plans, SESC plans, standard details, As- built plans Permitting and coordination with permitting agencies Write, review, and approve project specifications Direction and oversight of junior project engineers Cost estimates, bid letting, and contracting documents Maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans. RFI coordination, and shop drawing review Attending progress meetings, and preparing meeting minutes. Preparation of proposals Document creation with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) This position will require some out-of-town work assignments depending on the project requirements.
