We are seeking a Data/AI Analyst to support support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chief Data Officer Directorate (CDOD).  

This position is fully remote working with a DHS Client in Washington, DC.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with customer representatives and project teams to support organizational goals, applying a partnership approach to drive success.
  • Utilize understanding of data analytics to analyze, refine, and enhance processes and metrics, aiming for efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
  • Apply technical and functional expertise to develop solutions that leverage AI and data analytics, focusing on operational improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Engage in data analysis using advanced tools to assess program effectiveness and recommend enhancements to operational processes.
  • Translate client needs into system requirements, focusing on streamlining operations and improving service delivery.
  • Utilize knowledge of AI and Data architectures to forward effectiveness of DHS programs and goals.
  • Effectively communicate complex findings and methodologies to a broad audience, using oral, written, and graphical means.
  • Act as a bridge between operational teams and technical developers, ensuring clear communication of needs and objectives.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with a comprehensive understanding of AI and Data concepts, methodologies, and practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) and familiarity with project management software like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong foundation in AI and machine learning, with the ability to apply these technologies in problem-solving and operational enhancements.
  • Excellent skills in technical writing and editing, capable of demystifying complex concepts for a broad audience.
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to excel in a high-demand, fast-paced environment. 
  • A self-starter with a keen interest in emerging technologies and superior analytical abilities.
  • Security clearance is a plus, but must have the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to support the identification and implementation of process improvements is a plus.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, with significant involvement in information technology, data analysis, AI and Machine learning and business process reingineering.
  • Understanding and passion for emerging technologies.

Clearance Requirement US Citizenship required. DHS public trust preferred. Ability to obtain public trust clearance required.
