Bolton & Menk is looking to add a Survey Field Technician to our Ramsey team. We are looking to add a Survey Field Technician who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in a Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Community!
What you will be doing:
- Performs field assignments for average to complex land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
- Collects and processes field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
- Operates survey instruments (i.e. Total Stations, Data Collector, levels and GPS equipment) and resolves operation issues.
- Performs construction staking.
- Researches existing survey and engineering records, interprets plans and correctly stakes surveying and engineering records.
- Responsible for organizing and transferring files between data collectors and internal project folders in a timely manner.
- Travels frequently to work site and other project related locations.
- Responsible for maintaining company vehicle and company equipment in a clean, professional manner.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or three year's of relevant surveying experience.
- Good interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
- Good time management, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Good math skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Demonstrates ability to learn survey and engineering concepts.
- Developing knowledge of Trimble equipment and software. (Trimble Access & Trimble Business Center)
- Developing knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook)
- Developing knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
- Possess valid driver’s license.
