WHAT YOU'LL DO
As our Window & Door Sales Specialist, you are responsible for creating a positive customer experience throughout the entirety of the sales process. Working alongside an amazing team here at Dillman & Upton, a Mans Family Company you will make client dreams come to life!
THE NITTY GRITTY
- Assess and consult with the customer to arrive at products best suited for the project.
- Create a proposal for the client.
- Close the sale.
- Build and maintain trust while project managing through completion.
- Meet with clients on the jobsite, in home, or in our showroom to demonstrate and review selections.
- Closely communicate with subcontractors regarding installation and effectively find a solution for unforeseen issues that may arise.
- Follow up and address concerns during and upon project completion.
WHAT YOU NEED
Qualifications:
- High School GED or equivalent
- Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn manufacturers quoting tools
- Basic understanding of windows and doors
- Understanding of basic construction and remodeling terminology
- Previous experience in the building materials industry
- Possess strong math skills for quoting purposes (we promise calculus skills are not required)
- Willing to acquire State of Michigan Salesperson License

- Ability to work and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems by using strong judgment in analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating the problem
- Ability to create and maintain customer relationships
- Essential time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, goal orientated, and self-motivated
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines (well, not really fax machines).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires physical movement, frequently traveling to jobsites, meeting with customers, etc.: around 50% of this position will be sedentary, 50% will be out of the office. This role also requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, commission-based position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Bi-monthly Saturdays will be required by the nature of this position. Travel to jobsites will be required.
