Trust Investment Officer

Department:

Trust & Wealth Management

Reports To:

SVP/Trust & Wealth Management Director

Summary:

The Trust Investment Officer leads all investment related functions within the Trust & Wealth Management department. This includes monitoring economic conditions, setting our asset allocation targets, monitoring & screening securities, placing trades and overall management of investment portfolios in conjunction with clients’ financial needs and objectives.

Major duties & responsibilities:

  • Buys and sells securities for individual trust accounts in accordance with policies and procedures established by the trust agreement and/or Trust Committee.
  • Manages the investment of funds in a variety of estate, trust, agency, IRA, and accounts, both discretionary and non-discretionary.
  • Reviews portfolios and individual securities and communicates recommendations/decisions to the appropriate party.
  • Maintain lists of approved stocks and exchange traded funds and presents to Trust Committee for approval.
  • Reviews the assets in each account periodically to ensure that these investments meet the intent and objectives of the client/trust agreement.
  • Analyzes recommendations, forecasts, and strategies regularly.
  • Maintains an awareness of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the investment of trust funds.
  • Prepares new business proposals as needed.
  • Markets trust services to present and prospective clients.
  • Develop a strong community presence and be involved in community activities to serve as an ambassador the bank in our market areas.
  • Perform business development functions and activities in all bank market areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • CFA, MBA, MSF preferred but not required
  • Three or more years of experience in investment management
