Location: Remote and attend events as needed in Central Ohio.
Schedule: (Part-Time)
- 10 hours a week for up to 12 weeks.
What You Will Be Doing
The public relations intern will assist with general content creation, including writing for newsletters, website blog posts, and social media. Assist with finding solid media pitch ideas and with logistics for media interviews. Review and update the crisis communication plan. Assist with mascot promotions and events. May help with graphic design for marketing materials, if needed. The public relations intern will work collaboratively as a member of the advancement and communications team and other internal partners
Required Qualifications & Education:
- Pursuing a degree in a related field as a junior or senior (e.g., Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing/Communications, or English)
- Enthusiasm for the Boundless mission.
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams).
- Must be an effective, efficient, and professional communicator.
- Needs excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with a commitment to quality.
- The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess good organizational skills, be detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work effectively remotely.
- Must have or be willing to learn graphic design skills in Canva.
- Must reside in the state of Ohio.
Requirements:
- Because Boundless serves an at-risk population, all staff members – including interns – must successfully pass a drug screening and a background check. Interns must provide their own computer with reliable internet connection. A high degree of confidentiality is expected.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience with electronic communication, computers; basic photography and videography; experience with web authoring; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and commitment to quality.
- Experience working in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Graphic design skills including InDesign.
