Low Voltage Service Manager 

Description

The Low Voltage Service Manager is responsible for generating business by calling on customers and building relationships with them. The Low Voltage Service Manager needs to be familiar with the business activities and growth in their surrounding area and know which businesses should be contacted about potential work. In this position, the Low Voltage Service Manager represents Muth Electric in the community at all times and needs to make a positive impression in the community.

The Low Voltage Service Manager is responsible to ensure that the entire department follows all Standard Procedures and Lean processes that are developed by Muth Electric. This includes scheduling and controlling the effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment using all those lean processes. When this is done work orders will be completed as scheduled and in an organized method, minimizing costs, and so that a minimal amount of warranty work will need to be done. The Low Voltage Service Department must follow all federal, state, and local codes that apply to the work being done.

 
Position Requirements
  • Demonstrate safe work habits, comply with company safety requirements
  • Scheduling and controlling the effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment using all those lean processes.
  • Experience in Bidding and Estimation of Low Voltage Systems
  • Understand the Industry and the Standards involved
  • Install and terminate CAT* cable
  • Install and terminate fiber optic cable
  • Conduct Service Calls and oversee Projects as needed/necessary
  • Test both copper and fiber cables
  • Read blueprints - apply specifications
  • Feel comfortable with Microsoft Office computer platforms
  • BICSI Certified a plus
  • Self driven - able to work with limited supervision
  • Moves/handles various equipment and spools of wire
  • Proper care for material, tools and equipment
  • Assist electricians by performing various tasks
  • Operates power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc
  • Requires knowledge of process, procedures, and methods
  • Requires the use of common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general public
  • Required to carry a pager or cell phone and be on-call when necessary
  • Night/weekend work as required
  • Work as required in varying weather climates
  • The ability to travel out of town and stay overnight as required
  • Teach, train, and guide electrical apprentices working under licensed Journeyworkers

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with power tools in a low voltage technician capacity
  • Familiarity with Fiber Optics Installation and Service
  • Knowledge of system design principles for low voltage applications
  • Mechanical aptitude for handling equipment installations
  • Experience in sales of alarm systems is a plus
  • Ability to detect and diagnose problems in low voltage systems
  • Relevant certification or training in low voltage technology
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics
  • Understanding of computer networking fundamentals
  • Capability to build and configure low voltage systems
