POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintaining, updating, reviewing, entering billing and documentation, device interrogations, transmissions and properly updating the patient's charts for all cardiac device monitoring.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Cardiac Monitoring Devices - all devices and device companies

  • Enroll, transfer, and remove patient profiles as needed for the specific devices.
  • Ensure all necessary patients are participating in Cardiac Device Monitoring.
  • Answer patient questions and concerns to provide the utmost patient care.
  • Attaches transmissions and summary reports to chart.
  • Manage and maintain remote Networks to include, verifying accurate documentation, reviewing transmissions, transmission frequency.
  • Review events to determine if they need to be routed to a licensed provider.
  • Communicate with device representatives as needed.
  • Provide ongoing communication and education with patient as needed.
  • Enter any billing charges as needed and defined by department protocols and procedures.
  • Keep all providers updated in all device monitoring sites to include removing any providers that may have left the Practice or adding in any new prescribing providers.
  • Assist with implanting of SCRM to include: order device per guidelines, block schedule, update excel spreadsheet, prepare necessary information for patients, prep exam room, print invoices and provide to Administration, work with APP Manager as needed.
  • Complete EECP authorization form, contact patients regarding EECP start date and treatment, troubleshoot any machine issues.
  • In office device checks: check daily, enter daily charges, follow up with device reps on missing information and attachments, flags for devices at ERI.
  • Review and address any abnormal Events and Holters by downloading the document in the EMR and notify the physician.
  • Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of licensure.

Other daily functions and responsibilities

  • Retrieves and responds to voicemail messages according to department protocols.
  • Attempt call backs for each phone note in the 'Remotes' bucket.
  • Responds to patient questions directly or by researching the correct information, utilizing department protocols and policies, seeking guidance from licensed professional and then respond back to patient in a timely manner.
  • Creates phone notes and routes to appropriate person or department.
 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and care.
  • Skill with processing device interrogations.
  • Skill reviewing EKG’s.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to have impeccable time management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have successfully completed and graduated from a Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent education is required
  • Experience working in a Cardiology office required.
  • Experience with reviewing EKG’s.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and detail oriented.
  • Medical terminology and familiarity with cardiac medications required.
