Product Engineer 

Description

This product engineering position would consist of the following roles and responsibilities:

- Support design/engineering of Interior trim components. 
- Support Customer Studio and engineering with adequate, correct and timely design criteria/feasibility studies
- Support integration of components to meet vehicle, sub-system, and component specifications / requirements
- Participate in studio and design reviews, tooling reviews, PDT's, etc.; Work to develop manufacturable, robust designs 
  utilizing DRBFM's and DFM/A's
- Participate in Customer and internal build events; develop timely design / engineering solutions to solve product issues
- Write work orders using Inteva's and the customer's change process
- Support all pertinent engineering meetings, track open issues, publish meeting minutes in an effort to drive issues to 
  closure.
- Support the release of math data and drawings to published timing milestones and schedules (such as virtual builds, TKO, 
   etc).
- Establish effective communications between customer, internal groups and suppliers.
- Support meeting all metrics for all cost, mass, quality and performance requirements.
- Proven capability to work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, product engineering, CAE, 
  validation, quality, manufacturing, financial, purchasing
- Generate and implement cost savings ideas
- Support the development of adequate / correct / timely design criteria and feasibility studies

 
Position Requirements

REQUIRED
- Interior Product Engineering experience: preferably with
  Instrument Panels, Interior trim and console assemblies: 
  minimum of 0-3 years experience.
- Excellent Organization and Planning Skills
- Excellent  oral/written communication skills.
- Experienced with Interior component assembly / build 
  problem solving process.
- Interiors Product launch and manufacturing experience.
- Creative Problem Solving Skills & Self Starting: Work 
  effectively with others, results oriented.
- Creative Problem Solving Skills & Self Starting: Work 
  effectively with others, results oriented.
- Working knowledge of injection molding. 
- Computer skills: MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, 
  Outlook.

PREFERRED
- OEM Design Release Engineer (DRE) experience: 
  minimum 5 years experience.
- Interiors experience in Manufacturing, Validation or 
  Quality.
- Experience / working knowledge of Unigraphics &/or 
  CATIA.

 
Education Requirement Required: BS Mechanical Eng. Preferred: Master of Science in Eng.
