The Impact You'll Have:

The Alliant Survey Group is looking to grow and add a Team Leader in the Midwest Region. We are looking for a Director of Survey Services to lead business development activities, coordinate with other Alliant Department leads and grow our survey services with the public and private sectors. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of survey law, understanding of local survey requirements, experience with field operations and the ability to communicate with office and field staff. Primary responsibilities will be business development, management of resources, oversight and mentorship of survey staff, management of annual survey budget, and participation in the leadership and growth of Alliant. This is a 'Value Add' opportunity to be part of a successful and operational survey team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Alliant's Midwest Region Survey Practice
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the survey team
  • Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, and quality control of the technical and support staff
  • Work directly with existing clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure quality on survey deliverables
  • Provide exceptional oral and written communication to project teams, clients and the public
  • Ensure that survey methodologies align with industry best practices
  • Oversee coordination and management of field and office teams.
  • Educate, train, and mentor survey staff to enhance their skills and promote professional development
  • Conduct performance reviews and offer constructive feedback to survey staff
  • Effectively manage and deliver projects on-time and on budget
  • Work closely with accounting department to monitor project expenses and ensure cost effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License in the State of Minnesota
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or equivalent survey field experience
  • 10+ years relevant experience in a professional or management capacity
  • Familiar with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation Multi-discipline experience, and a strong understanding of public infrastructure markets and projects
  • A strong background in project management
  • Work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross departmental teams
