The Instructor Team Manager role helps NCM maintain consistent, high quality instructional services. They help create and maintain a team structure that allows for best practice sharing amongst the instructors, as well as faster implementation of change and change management, including content updates and adult learning strategies. They help to mentor new instructors, as well as provide another point of contact for experienced instructors who need assistance. They represent their team to the Director of Performance Solutions when feedback needs to be gathered.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise a team of approximately 10-13 instructors. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship of the instructor team.
• Audit classes (both live and virtual) – the audits will be for style and capabilities of the instructors and for content needs.
• Train the instructors – Providing feedback and training on presentation styles and knowledge of standard class materials.
• Teaching requirement – At times the Instructor Team Manager will teach specific topics as scheduled (in-person or virtual), which could be part of a class, or complete classes. This will also help the Instructor Team Manager to see firsthand what instructors encounter, so they can help provide training to keep the classes improving.
• Instructor 1:1’s – Hold 1:1 pulse meetings with all instructors for coaching, and communication and report any notable items to the Director of Performance Solutions. These can be in person or virtual.
• Train the trainers (T3) – Provide T3 for the launch of new content and work with the instructors to be able to apply the new content.
• NCMi representative - When appropriate the Instructor Team Manager will present “free” 1-2 hour presentations to 20 Groups, either virtually or in person. These are used to showcase our services and knowledge.
• Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members.
• Teach adult education best practices to their team, to ensure that classes are effective and professional.
• Conduct periodic quality assessment of classes and instructor performance. Including review of survey responses, client input and instructor feedback. Implement improvements to enhance the effectiveness of classes.
• Serve as team representative to Director of Performance Solutions for quick gathering of feedback.
• Be a resource available to provide answers to common questions by new and experienced instructors that are on the team. Be available as a mentor and guide for new instructors.

 
Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, however, requirements may be satisfied with equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in adult learning or related roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
• Deep understanding of the industry and market trends related to adult learning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• A customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
• Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management skills.
• Superior ability to multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Superior problem-solving abilities.
• Completes all responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet employee and client needs and remain cost effective.
• Own operational metrics, such as time-to-value, customer satisfaction and on-time completion of projects.
• Employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as driving on company business may be required.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, walk, sit, speak, hear, see and use hands to handle objects.
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Employee must have the ability to travel outside of the United States as required including a valid passport
• Ability to travel overnight (up to 30%)
