Since it's opening in 1999, the property has seen continual growth in both gaming and non-gaming assets. The property currently offers over 860 slot machines, 9 table games, a luxurious 132 room hotel with 225 occupancy banquet space, two delicious restaurants, coffee shop and a convenience store.

The Apache Markets are full service convenience stores. We have 2 locations: Lawton, Oklahoma and Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Description

Overview

The Director of Finance will report directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the financial reporting process of the Apache Casino Hotel. Creates / directs the fiscal policies and standard operating procedures relevant to departments that s/he oversees. Creates / implements range of statistical data for financial reporting. The Director of Finance will oversee and guide the Accounting, Revenue Audit, Payroll, Purchasing, Cage and Drop/Count Departments, periodically reporting to Management regarding current revenues and plans for growth while simultaneously serving as Management’s advisor for insurance coverage and contracts. Responsible for establishing appropriate policies, procedures and controls of the Company to be consistent with General Accepted Accounting Principles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred active CPA license and/or a Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of Eight years’ accounting/finance executive level experience in the gaming industry
  • Knowledge of, and experience with Great Plains software a plus
  • Ability to interpret and understand gaming regulatory requirements, with gaming experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger account reconciliation and capital budgeting, with knowledge of applicable federal, state and local reporting requirements and laws and regulations relating to applicable financial operations and a thorough understanding of generally-accepted accounting principles
  • Strong leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills, and customer service orientation
  • Proven computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with payroll information management and support systems preferred
  • Knowledge of information technology operations, applications hardware and configurations in a casino and hotel environment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license

Responsibilities

  • Direct the financial strategy of the Casino while managing financial control and procedures.
  • Provide transparency over financial performance and advise on potential for increasing margins.
  • Identify and communicate potential financial risks.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Establishes a system of troubleshooting financial problems to ensure cost effectiveness throughout the property.
  • Manage the activities of the Revenue Audit Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of daily revenue audits and the recording of the daily revenue to the general ledger.
  • Manage the activities of the Accounts Payable and Purchasing Departments, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Manage the activities of the Accounts Receivable Department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.
  • Manage activities of the Payroll Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the employee payroll and maintenance of employee payroll records.
  • Manage the activities of the Cage and Drop/Count Departments, ensuring the accurate accounting of funds of the Casino and timely reporting of transactions.
  • Maintains good working relationships with the Gaming Commission, the Federal and State Tax Commissions.
  • Performs other assigned tasks and duties as required

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.
  • While performing job duties the team member may be regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test, and obtain a gaming license.
