Description

As a Manager of Finance and Administration, this role is key a leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations and administrative functions to ensure the organization's operational efficiency.

Finance Management:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Analyze financial data, and trends to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and control budgets, expenses, and financial resources. Identify areas for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Develop strategies for optimizing cash flow and managing financial risks.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate audits, reviews, and compliance assessments to maintain financial integrity.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems, and technologies. Leverage automation and data analytics for improved financial management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights, risk assessments, and resource allocation recommendations. Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial goals with overall organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.

Administrative and Operations:

  • Manage administrative functions including finance, payroll, IT (Technology), facilities management and contract negotiations.
  • Manages the continuous upkeep of Carlington's physical facilities and provides supervision to the superintendent and contractors enlisted to aid in property maintenance and security.
  • Manages and oversees the functioning and maintenance of the Center's IT systems, including managing current information systems, proposing modifications as necessary, and leading the creation, implementation, and monitoring of new information systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance and administrative professionals. Provide guidance, support, and training to foster professional development and ensure high performance.

Health & Safety:

  • Organizes and supports the operations of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Functions as the primary senior leadership team representative and serves as the liaison between the Joint Health and Safety Committee and the leadership team. 
 
Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a combination of education and relevant work experience would be considered an asset. 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Additional training in accounting and payroll software applications is an asset.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and administration roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting. Experience in managing financial and accounting systems and processed (e.g. preferably Sage) is highly valuable.
  • Understanding administrative procedures and organizational operations. This includes proficiency in payroll management, IT operations, and facilities management.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with relevant legislation and practices, related to finance, accounting, and administrative functions.
  • Experience in a non-profit, community-based organization is an asset.

  • High level of integrity, ethics, and attention to detail.

Linguistic Profile

  • This position is not designated under Carlington’s French Language Services Plan.
  • Fluency in French is preferred.
  • A third language relevant to our client population is an asset

Salary Range $45.51/hour - $$53.54/hour
