Inventory Cycle Counter

Description

Responsible to conduct cycle counting activities to ensure inventory accuracy. Report and investigate the root cause of inventory discrepancies, look for ways to reduce errors and inventory adjustments, while championing the BFMI standards for Inventory and policies related to Inventory accuracy. Performs related tasks as needed to support Inventory Control.

  • Ensure that parts from inventory are being issued on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis, and lot tracability requirements are met. Ensure part shelves are organized and accesible, and maintain fixed locations for high volume inventory items.
  • Verify that inventory items are accurately received and counted, material is correctly transacted into inventory, and material is labeled with part number and lot number.
  • Investigate discrepancies using computer ERP system and handheld scanner. Confirm that proper approval is obtained before completing inventory adjustment transactions, and the correct reason codes are being used.
  • Identify obsolete inventory and work with Management to process it (for example – scrap, repurpose, recycle, etc…). Monitor and update the log of rejected and scrap material and help ensure that items are disposed of properly as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts for all locations including off-site warehouses and storage areas. Check that bin locations are accurate and updated in the system and transfer items between main plant and off-site warehouses when needed.

Position Requirements
  • Two years of experience in Manufacturing / Supply Chain with at least 1 year in a Cycle Counter role preferred.

 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Frequently required to use ERP System (Microsoft Dynamics GP), and handheld scanner for inventory control and material handling functions.

  • The employee must be able to lift and carry or move up to 50 pounds for long periods of time, in accordance with proper safe lifting procedures.

  • Must be able to read inventory labels and accurately count very small items.

  • Must be available for weekend overtime as needed.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Maintain valid driver’s license. Maintain eligibility to work with firearms under state and federal guidelines. Ability to operate a tow motor or electric pallet jack preferred.
