***STARTING PAY $18.50 PER HOUR***

  • The Activity Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing an Activity Program to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the individuals utilizing a person-centered approach to assist the individuals in fulfilling their desires and needs for an independent life.
  • This position will oversee the day to day activities of the department and will be responsible for developing and ensuring that all information related to activities is posted and communicated to all staff, individuals and other necessary individuals or groups in a timely, effective and appropriate manner.
  • Responsible for monitoring and assessing the activity needs of the individuals and generating a variety of documentation and reports that show the overall activities performed related to those needs.
  • Assist in a variety of other duties including transporting individuals, assisting with direct care needs, assisting with facility events and fundraisers, assisting with handling individual money and assisting with compliance, regulatory audits and the general safety of the individuals.
  • Work closely with all departments to accomplish individual activities and meet individual needs. The Activity Coordinator is part of the Programming Department, the IHP team, the Christmas Planning Committee. This position will supervise the Activity Assistant who helps coordinate an extended team of volunteers and staff for planned activities.

 

Requirements

A valid Ohio driver's license is required - 

Four year degree required preferably in recreation therapy or related field. Obtaining a CDL may be required if needed for the operation of the activities program. Computer skills including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Products required. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities and prior supervisory experience preferred.
