We are looking for a self-driven compassionate Cook to join our Nutritional Services team. Nutritional Services Technician - Cook Based on where you are assigned on a given day, prepare all breakfast food items assigned, salads or baked items necessary for patients and cafeteria by following the recipes provided.  In addition, prepare food for other functions as requested.  This also includes doing preparation for the day or days ahead and coming up with new ideas for the cafeteria. Plans and performs a variety of duties. This position requires frequent standing, walking and lifting. Develops menu and produces quality food for patients, visitors and employees while monitoring costs and reducing waste. Checks foods for food temperature, appearance and conformance to prescribed diet restrictions. Demonstrates the ability to provide a safe, clean and functional kitchen. Participates in the performance of food preparation, serving, cleanup, and other food service tasks as time permits during rush periods or when unit is understaffed. Inspects purchased foods for standards of quality. Assists and places food and supply orders. About our Nutritional Services Department The Nutritional Services department at Fitzgibbon Hospital provides quality meals to patients, residents, employees and visitors. Café Fitz, located west of the main entrance to the hospital, just past the gift shop provides Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (weekdays only) in addition to hot coffee, freshly popped popcorn and a large variety of snacks and refreshments. Also serving residents and their guests in The Living Center, our Nutritional Services Department offers a friendly touch to the entire patient experience. The Nutritional Services staff promptly delivers meals to patient areas, providing individualized options to meet each patient’s needs.   Position Requirements Position requires frequently standing, walking and lifting/carrying 20-45 lbs. Helps maintain a clean and orderly work area. Supervises tray line and works with menus.
