Job Overview
The digital printing operator must utilize specialized software to design layouts and printed materials tailored for various digital print machines, including the Canon IX, Xerox Iridesse, and Xerox Baltoro. They need to adhere to client specifications, adjusting attributes such as size and resolution meticulously to ensure the production of top-notch finished products.
Responsibilities
- Operate duplication machines and peripheral equipment.
- Determine work priorities and schedule work; expedite workflow.
- Maintain an inventory of paper and supplies.
- Assist other Print Shop staff with printing, collating, binding, and distributing materials.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance on duplication machines.
- Assist in training students assigned to the unit.
- Operate a variety of other equipment such as paper cutting, binding, folding, preserving, and collating machines.
- Perform other basic tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Experience with Free Flow or Firey is recommended.
- Superior communication skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Capable of working independently with verbal or written instructions.
- Proficient in basic math calculations.
Hourly Rate: $17 to $25 per hour dependent on experience.
