Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois is a non-profit organization with 11 stores, seven donation centers, a logistics center and an online auction site. In addition, we operate two employment service centers and a home for veterans experiencing homelessness. The money raised by the sale of donations goes to fund our free programs. Our programs include: helping people find employment, assisting our veterans with job services and resource referral, serving youth around the area with several different programs, and operating a 15-bed home for veterans. Goodwill has been serving Central Illinois since 1934.

Description

Residential Supervisor – Part-time, Weekends

 

Goodwill Industries of Central IL is recruiting for a Residential Supervisor. This is a part-time position based at Goodwill’s General Wayne A. Downing Home for Veterans. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the Home and its residents and assisting case management staff in helping residents achieve goals and objectives.

 

Summary of Job Duties:

  • Monitor and report on abilities and difficulties of the residents to the Veterans’ Housing Manager
  • Provide training, assistance, and supervision for the residents in the accomplishment of the daily living tasks, routine household operations and improvement of independent living skills
  • Ensure the safety of residents, staff members, and visitors by implementing all company policies and procedures
  • Perform various behavior interventions as directed by the Veterans’ Housing Manager
  • All other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both in-person and electronically
  • At least 1-year experience in providing human services
  • Must be available to work weekends, 2nd and 3rd shift
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
