Bolton & Menk, Inc. is growing and we are now accepting applications for an Senior Environmental Engineering Technician to join our team in our Duluth location. This role will include both office and field work.
As a Senior Environmental Engineering Technician, you will work with state-of-the-art wastewater and water treatment facilities observing construction, assisting with startups, troubleshooting and providing advice on operations to help protect human lives and the environment.
What you will be doing:
- You will have the opportunity to learn practical on-the-job application of the skills you have learned working with our Project Engineers serving our environmental clients with water and wastewater treatment technologies.
- Performing onsite construction observation for the construction phase activities on environmental projects, such as; water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping facilities, lift stations and buildings.
- Construction observation activities may include performing pipe measurements, building layout measurements, performing construction administration duties such as documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff.
- Performing complex design computations and plan reviews
- Assisting with project plans and specifications, providing design input and construction change advice
- Support our water and wastewater treatment projects totaling over $150 Million of construction each year.
- Providing oversight and advice to communities on the operations of water and wastewater treatment.
- Assist communities in preliminary planning and needs in the water and wastewater treatment fields.
What we are looking for:
- 10 or more years’ experience or equivalent in infrastructure design, public works construction, and water or wastewater treatment construction.
- Certified Minnesota Wastewater Operator
- Certified Minnesota Water Operator
- Class A Wastewater Certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and your own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.
- Ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to read, speak and write English clearly is required. This position interacts with City staff, City residents, contractors and sub-contractors.
