Description

The Town of Silverthorne is seeking Certified Group Fitness Instructors for Strength Training and Cycling classes at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Fitness Instructors are responsible for instructing scheduled fitness classes to the public in a fun and engaging manner. Fitness Instructors also maintain safety in the fitness area and monitor participants for appropriate fitness level during classes. Fitness classes are mainly scheduled early in the morning, in the evening and on weekends, and a Fitness Instructor would be expected to teach a minimum of one class per week.

The Town of Silverthorne is seeking a Certified Group Fitness Instructor responsible for instructing group fitness classes with a variety of clientele, maintains safety in the classes, demonstrates exercises, other duties as assigned. See attached Job Description for full list of duties.

Hiring Range: 24.34 to 27.58 per hour            Full Pay Range: 24.34 to 32.45 per hour

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Nationally recognized Group Fitness certification

CPR/AED certification

Minimum of 1 year experience as it relates to group fitness instructing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

2-3 years of work experience in the area of group fitness      

Degree as it relates to health/fitness/nutrition

 

 
Position Requirements

Fitness Instructors at the Silverthorne Recreation Center are required to have:

  • a current National Fitness Instructor Certification through a recognised association such as ACE or AFFA
  • minimum of one year of fitness class teaching experience
  • CPR / First Aid training, or the ability to obtain this within 3 months
  • the ability to communicate effectively verbally in English in both individual and group settings
  • the ability to effectively demonstrate fitness exercises to others
