Salary starting up to17.60 per hour Positions Available:
*Full-time-1st shift=7:00am-3:30pm (M-F, must do on call)
*Full-time-1st shift=6:00am-3:30 (31.5 hrs/wk 7 days on 7 days off)
*Part-time 1st shift=7:00am-3:30pm (Every other weekend)
*Part-time 2nd shift=3:00pm-10:00pm (24.5 hrs/wk=7days on /7 days off)
*Part-time 2nd shift=3:15pm-11:45pm (Every other weekend)
Back-up or as needed**all shifts.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to adult individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. This position provides or assists with activities according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, grooming) mealtime and simple household tasks such as laundry, cleaning or bed making. In smaller settings, the DSP may prepare and serve meals and snacks. Some DSP's give medications to the individuals. The Direct Support Professional also assists with teaching communication, recreation/leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. On occasions, the DSP transports/accompanies individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments.

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED from an accredited school is required. Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. In most positions, a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the agency's insurability standards is essential. Course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and behavior management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
