Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) seeks a seasoned Recruiter to work with our Human Resources team over the remainder of this year. This position will play a pivotal role in OFN’s rapid growth by sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for available positions. By collaborating closely with hiring managers, this role will develop recruitment strategies tailored to meet OFN's staffing needs. The position will require the use of various job board channels to identify and engage with potential candidates. From vetting initial candidates to extending offers and managing the onboarding process, this position will oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, prioritizing a positive candidate experience at OFN. Adhering to legal requirements and industry best practices, this role will continuously refine OFN’s recruitment processes to attract top talent efficiently. Additionally, they will maintain communication with candidates, provide updates throughout the process, and contribute to ongoing improvements within the HR function. In this role, there is an opportunity to work remotely most of the time with occasional needs to be onsite in the DC office. The right candidate must be able to commit to a minimum of working 30 hours per week.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Source candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  • Build a strong pipeline of highly qualified candidates and develop strategies that drive continuous engagement/interest in OFN.
  • Adhere to best practices and legal requirements related to recruitment and hiring with a commitment to procure the best talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct phone screens and interviews to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Facilitate the selection process by collecting feedback from interviewers and guiding hiring decisions.
  • Extend job offers and negotiate terms of employment with selected candidates.
  • Manage applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure accurate documentation of candidate interactions.
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to provide updates and gather feedback.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, related field preferred or 3-5 years of work experience in a professional recruiter capacity. Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus.

  • Proven experience as a recruiter or in a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit environment.

  • Experience recruiting and cultivating a diverse talent pipeline.

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software.

  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing techniques, and interviewing best practices.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requisitions simultaneously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

  • Negotiation skills for extending job offers and negotiating terms of employment.

  • Attention to detail in screening resumes and conducting interviews.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with hiring managers and HR team members.

  • Adaptability to changes in recruitment priorities and strategies.

  • Empathy and professionalism in maintaining positive candidate experiences.

  • Digital literacy and ability to navigate workplace technology.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams across OFN.

  • Comfort working in a small-office environment and/or experience working in a nonprofit environment preferred.

  • No travel required.

  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
