We are looking for a self-driven compassionate Laundry Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This position requires frequent standing, walking and lifting. A Laundry Technician: Sorts, weighs, washes and dries linens, folding and placing in proper areas Hangs personals and distributes personal clothing to proper areas Stocks linen closets and carts, checks and restocks supplies and stamps new linens Cleans our dryers, wipes down all equipment, sweeps and mops floors Distributes linens to hospital departments Shift: Full-Time 9:00am-5:30pm 80 hours every two weeks Rotating weekends This job is ideal for someone who is: Dependable: reliable transportation and positive contact number Adaptable/flexible: enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Detail-oriented: establishing an environment that is responsive to patients, guests and employees’ needs Achievement oriented: enjoys taking on challenges Independent: enjoys working with little direction Able to verbally communicate and understand written instructions Physical requirements: Able to handle 75 pounds of wet/dry linens Walk, bend, and kneel frequently Fold linens eight (8) hours or more per shift Qualified applicants can apply online at www.fitzgibbon.org/careers or contact Human Resources at (660) 831-3257 for assistance completing the application.
