Medical Assistant Outreach

As the Medical Assistant Outreach Float, you will perform medical assistant, front desk and attend community events while assisting patients with social determinates of health needs.

Clinical MA Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and documents medical and/or social history, vital signs and measurements.
  • *Assists with patient exams.
  • *Obtains and prepares specimens for processing.
  • *Performs lab tests and EKGs as directed by medical professional staff.
  • *Administers treatments, immunizations and medications correctly as directed by medical professional staff.

Front Desk Responsibilities:

  • *Assists with checking in patients and other clerical tasks to maintain a smooth flow of patients and paperwork.
  • *Registers patients quickly and efficiently, while reviewing the chart for accurate and complete information (demographic, privacy, UDS information)
  • * Makes appointments to support nurses and providers.
  • *Answers incoming calls for the department.
  • *Collects all paperwork from patients and checks for completeness before giving to Medical Records to be scanned.

Outreach Responsibilities:

  • *Provides community outreach and education to coordinate healthcare and community resources for targeted populations.
  • *Assists patients with connecting to community resources such as: insurance, transportation, rent/utility assistance, medication assistance, clothing, food, etc.

Requirements:

Licensure: Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma, CPR and Mandatory Abuse Reporter certified

Experience: One year of previous Medical Assistant experience preferred, but not required.
