As a Spanish Interpreter at Community Health are, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate accurate and clear communication.

The ideal candidate will have fluency in both Spanish and English, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation Services: Provide accurate and professional interpretation services between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers during medical appointments, consultations, and procedures.
  • Medical Terminology: Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology in both Spanish and English to accurately convey medical information and instructions.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Exhibit cultural sensitivity and awareness to effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds and ensure understanding and comfort during medical encounters.
  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are effectively communicated to healthcare providers and addressed appropriately.
  • Assist with Documentation: Assist with the translation of medical documents, forms, and instructions to ensure patients have access to essential information in their preferred language.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy rights at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and professional ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate smooth communication and coordination of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.
  • Passing score of CHC Spanish language assessment, testing to take place before upon hire.
  • Previous experience as a medical interpreter in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures in both Spanish and English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information accurately and compassionately.
