Description

The Rehabilitation Specialist (RS) is responsible for the appropriate provision of rehabilitation services and the clinical supervision of all direct care staff. The RS oversees all rehabilitation services and provides training for staff on how to provide services that address the goals identified in our clients Individualized Rehabilitation Plans.

This is a contract position. The expectation is 20 hours per week at $40/hour. This position can be performed remotely in the state of Maryland. Employee will be required to report to the main office as needed for necessary meetings and training, so flexibility is required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities include completing client assessments in line with company and regulatory standards, maintaining up-to-date and personalized rehabilitation plans for each client, generating current and comprehensive rehabilitation progress reports, and fostering continuous communication and coordination of services between mental health and rehabilitation service providers.

  • The role involves supervising effective service delivery, ensuring timely and quality clinical documentation, overseeing clinical treatment flow, and managing authorization-related tasks. Responsibilities include approving treatment documentation for billing, addressing clinical concerns, reporting issues to the Field Supervisor, and maintaining up-to-date authorization statuses for clients. Other duties as assigned.

  • Engage in overseeing the revision and ongoing development of standard operating policies and procedures in collaboration with the Program Director. Additionally, participate in facilitating the creation and revision of forms and tools used for administering rehabilitation services in partnership with the Program Director.

  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of treatment documentation, outcomes, and treatment tracking reports agency-wide. (note: this is on both already)
    Utilize individualized treatment tracking outcomes when assessing service delivery, providing supervision, and developing rehabilitation plans.

  • Facilitate supervision meetings with direct service workers, attend Team, IEP, and Management Meetings as needed. Lead staff and support group meetings, join program development subcommittees, and conduct Training Academy sessions for all staff in collaboration with Human Resources. Ensure efficient service provision, client needs fulfillment, and contribute to program development.

  • Conduct monthly In-Service Training focusing on clinical documentation and service delivery skills development. Additionally, lead quarterly training specifically centered on enhancing clinical documentation skills.

  • Ensure adherence to physical, dental, and medical exams, documenting medical compliance on relevant forms for health passport maintenance, and forwarding information to the appropriate parties. Guarantee compliance with physician recommendations for specialized medical attention for medically fragile youth, and secure medical attention for the overall well-being of clients in care. Additionally, ensure proper monetary tracking and documentation of medication compliance.

  • Coordinate team meetings to develop rehabilitation plans for clients and ensure the implementation of treatment services. Document clients' progress in quarterly treatment summaries. Collaborate with CSA and other outside agencies for effective and efficient delivery of services. Connect community resources and services to meet clients' needs. Maintain client files with appropriate medical, educational, and treatment records, facilitating correspondence with inter-agency team members.

  • Develop and implement a system to monitor and track the utilization of service authorizations for clients receiving community-based and in-home services. Maximize client authorizations through monitoring and collaboration with Field Supervisor, providing troubleshooting with the ASO, including investigating denied, pending, and erroneous authorizations. Generate monthly authorization utilization reports for Executive Leadership and analyze trends to identify patterns. Ensure timely transmission and receipt of Continuation Forms, maintaining reports on the number sent versus received. Perform other assigned duties.

  • Establish and execute a New Hire Training Academy for all Direct Care Staff in collaboration with Human Resources. Incorporate meaningful clinical experiences into the training program. Verify that newly hired Direct Care Staff fulfill minimum training requirements before offering independent community-based and/or in-home services. Collaborate with the Field Supervisor to organize shadowing and field training experiences.

Qualifications

Minimum CPRP required.

  • One year of experience working with youth in a social, educational or recreational setting is preferred
  • Competency in program based therapeutic models along with familiarity with theories, principles, and practices related to adult and child needs and development.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and people skills.
