Description

Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that customers are promptly and professionally served. This position will also be responsible for receiving and paying out money, keeping records of money and negotiable instruments.

Essential Duties:

  • Balance all cash, coin, and checks in teller drawer.
  • Verify all cash and checks received for deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, etc.
  • Review checks for proper endorsements and to ensure they are filled out correctly.
  • Process various forms of transactions involving cash, checks, and other monetary instruments.
  • Process customer transactions by inputting them into the core processing system and generating a receipt.
  • Identify transaction errors when debits and credits do not balance.
  • Identify counterfeit currency.
  • Prepare and verify money orders and cashier checks.
  • Aid in resolving customer account problems or discrepancies.
  • Monitor bank vaults to help ensure they balance.
  • Count and roll loose coin.
  • Buy and sell cash to meet daily needs.
  • Process cash advances and redeem U.S. Savings Bonds.
  • Maintain appropriate currency logs.
  • Cross-sell the bank's products and services by identifying the customer's needs and referring them to the proper department.
  • Actively refers customers and prospects to various bank approved service providers.
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Actively involved in Community Programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate level computer skills and Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of banking products (checking, money market, savings, IRA accounts, etc.)
  • Attention to detail
  • Decision making
  • Adaptable

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior cash handling experience preferred
