Pay Range: $15.00/hour

What You Will be Doing
We want people to join our team who share our values of love, excellence, respect, empowerment, and well-being. Under supervision, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing behavioral health services, including counseling, day treatment, and case management services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Individual, group, or family services will be provided in person or via telehealth. The intern reports to the program specific supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that the treatment needs of the clients are met and maintained to support individual client psychosocial and emotional needs. Services must be provided in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develops a comprehensive social history and psychosocial assessment that includes the client’s problems, strengths, and preferences, including cultural, religious, and ethnic background and implications for the care plan.
  • Helps clients and families identify needs and develop a service plan to meet those needs.
  • Orients clients and families to the program, its services, service limitations, and clients’ rights.
  • Provide therapy and case management services to address clients’ targeted individualized treatment needs.
  • Involves clients and families in treatment planning, encouraging their attendance at care conferences or with outside providers/professionals.
  • Attends scheduled care conferences and identifies and interprets psychosocial needs of clients for inclusion in the care plan.
  • Completes mandatory documentation within timelines established by applicable regulations and policies.
  • Mediates issues that arise among clients, families, and staff.
  • Provides linkage with appropriate community resources by maintaining knowledge of other systems, making referrals, and identifying unmet needs (e.g., recreational, transportation, healthy/safety, employment, etc.)
  • Provides clients and families with crisis management services as needed.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary team to support clients and coordinate care.
  • Develops a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, clients’ families, multidisciplinary staff, and referral agencies.
  • Trains and consults with staff regarding psychosocial needs that encompass mental health, development, and diversity of individual clients to increase staff knowledge and skills.
  • Advocates on a case, policy, and program level.
  • Meet monthly requirements for billable hours as established by the department.
  • Provide clinical review and audit of clients’ charts and documentation to ensure compliance and support quality improvement.
  • Responsible for reading and following the employee handbook and all Boundless policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for completing and following all trainings assigned.
  • Attends meetings and professional development activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • Actively engaging in Social Work or Counseling education at a Bachelor or Master level.

Required Licensure/Certification

  • Licensed through the State of Ohio as CT, SWT or LSW (as applicable for Master’s level interns)..

Special Skills and Requirements

  • Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and support agencies.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times hostile clients/family members.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and in the community providing services to individuals in their school, home, or other community settings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to sit; drive; type; speak on the phone; participate in virtual meetings and appointments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This can be a part or full-time position, and hours of work and days have flexibility based upon the department needs, but are primarily Monday through Friday, should fall between 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected on occasion.
