A day in the life of a Staff Accountant: Responsible for various accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, expense management, accounts payable, and budget reporting. Provide general accounting support to the accounting department. Assist with monthly and quarterly close, and preparation of financial statements. Ensure accurate and timely entry of business transactions. Ensure proper classification and recording of revenue, expenses, and other day-to-day accounting items. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory. Reconcile monthly bank statements. Assist in year-end audit and other audits, tax filings, and examinations as necessary. Prepare ad-hoc reports and/or analysis as requested by management or other departments. Fixed asset processing and reporting. Prepare sales and use tax returns. Assist in the annual budgeting process and monthly budget reforecast. Prepare schedules and workpapers as requested by third-party tax and audit firms. Support SOX compliance initiatives. Perform other various projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting. Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance and report any concerns of non-compliance in any area to your manager immediately.
