Business Development Manager - Printing Sales

We're looking to add a Business Development Manager to our Printing Team!

In this role, you will need to be a natural relationship builder who has a passion for seeking out new business and is dedicated to developing and propelling new business initiatives that showcase our products and deliver tailored printing solutions!

Note: This is not a remote position. You must be based out of West Michigan. We are currently not considering applicants out of state.

The Position:

 

Sales Leadership:

  • Manage sales of digital, sheetfed, and large format print solutions in a designated territory.
  • Identify potential customers through strategic cold calling, referrals and leads.
  • Stay current within the industry, actively seeking new business through networking and staying informed about product innovations.
  • Customer Relationship and Engagement Management:
  • Build and nurture solid working relationships with new customers.
  • Coordinates meetings with prospective clients to effectively introduce company's services, highlighting exemplary sample products that not only showcase our superior quality but also surpass the standards of what they currently receive from other printing providers.
  • Ensure consistent quality service and high customer satisfaction through availability and reliability.
  • Conduct customer press checks, tours, and meetings to showcase the company’s services and sample products.
  • Follow up with your customers to ensure their expectations are met, addressing concerns and resolving complaints.

Business Development and Execution:

  • Present compelling business cases to persuade customers, emphasizing service benefits and key features.
  • Offer creative ideas on design, layout, and binding to assist prospective customers in planning their print jobs.
  • Provide market intelligence to ensure competitive pricing, exceptional customer service, and on-time shipping for repeat business.
  • Stay up to date and educated on all phases of prospective customers' businesses.
  • Measure and evaluate specific territory business, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities; Develop and execute solutions to address gaps, leading to sustained share and sales growth.
  • Travel to customer locations for meetings, presentations, and closing sales.
  • Prepare materials for sales presentations, utilizing advanced sales tools for fact-based presentations.

Administrative and Reporting:

  • Provide precise reporting on time usage, expenses, and insights into quotations that did not transition into active projects.
  • Promptly submit purchase orders for processing.
  • Stay informed about company capabilities and printing press schedules.
  • Maintain awareness of job status throughout the production process, coordinating with the customer service team and production scheduler.
  • Obtain detailed customer specifications and provide this information to the Production Manager for quote development.
  • Complete paperwork, obtain customer signatures, and gather necessary information to finalize each sale.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
