About the Organization Established June 15, 1971, Valley Community Services Board is a publicly funded organization where citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta and Highland Counties can receive Behavioral Health, Substance Use and Developmental Services services. Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Benefits:

  • Sign-on bonus of $1,500 included in full with the first paycheck.
  • Salary starting at $69,211.73

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct nursing services and assist the psychiatrist in providing care through symptom assessment and promoting health and wellness practices.
  • Identification of health issues.
  • Administering and monitoring medication treatment.
  • Obtaining labs.
  • Coordinating with other providers.
  • Teaching health, counseling and crisis care.
  • Conducting administrative tasks.
  • General office/outpatient setting duties require close contact with individuals who, infrequently, have the potential for verbal or physical aggression and the performance of tasks that have the potential for exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree as a Registered Nurse, with licensure in good standing in the state of Virginia or another acceptable compact state as a Registered Nurse.
  • Supervision of other staff, including other RNs and non-RN staff providing direct clinical service or administrative support.
  • Must be able to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and stretch.
  • Experience with electronic health records.
  • Ability to direct and work as a team with a record of dependability and honesty.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Behavioral Health care and working in an environment with other BH professionals.
  • Effective communication skills, orally and written.
