General Summary:
Astronics Test Systems is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to learn and perform the monthly accounting close in Intuitive system.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities in concert with Sr. Accounting Manager:
- Reconcile month end inventory accounts
- Prepare and post accounting close journal entries
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Understand Job Cost (@ standard) vs. general ledger
- Prepare monthly financial statements: Income statement and Balance sheet
- Understanding of applied and unabsorbed Overhead
- Support the Corporate Tax Department with operational data
- Fixed Asset Maintenance in SAGE
- Supervise preparation of weekly delinquent accounts receivable report
- Prepare monthly departmental expenditures and variance analyses to plan.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated accounting systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace or defense industry accounting practices or manufacturing experience.
- CPA or working towards CPA
- Big 4 audit experience
- Computer Skills:
- Excellent computing skills: EXCEL, WORD, accounting software, E-mail.
