Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary responsibilities are to assist with Marketing, Communications, and Customer Service projects, especially copywriting and liaising between external marketing consultants and internal executive staff.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the Mission and Vision of the Cornerstone Fund as a Financial Ministry of the United Church of Christ
  • Work collaboratively with Lending, Investing, and Accounting teams
  • Manage workflow between senior leadership and external marketing
  • Support marketing and communications projects with copywriting, including drafting newsletter articles, emails, and other communications
  • Compile information, data and reports as needed
  • Draft and revise presentations using PowerPoint, Word, and other resources
  • Make periodic website updates using WordPress and Adobe
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and other team meetings
  • Read and summarize case studies
  • Support Customer service efforts including the use of surveys, segmented email lists, and other direct communications
  • Communicate directly with clients as needed
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

 

  • A college degree in a related field or equivalent experience, or a combination of academic study and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with the United Church of Christ, or willingness to learn.
  • Church experience is highly valued, pastors and lay leaders strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent writing skills and significant writing experience, especially for church audiences. Grant writing experience a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple and complex projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 software programs
  • Proficiency in or willingness to learn such digital tools as Zoom, WordPress, Adobe, Salesforce
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Desire and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to pluralism in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission.
