Job Purpose: The Concrete Pusher position is responsible for performing all assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Assigned Foreman while leading team members applying the proper techniques of concrete placement and consolidation in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Description of Essential Duties: Extensive experience in concrete batching including vibrating and placing concrete using proper techniques of concrete placement and consolidation with knowledge of tank foundation layouts, orientations, and elevations while directing crew members with proper work techniques and procedures. Communicate with the foreman daily all work activities organizing personnel, assigning tasks as instructed by the foreman including inspecting work for quality notifying supervision with deficiencies. Establish horizontal and vertical control of foundations reading and interpreting blueprints with the ability to apply field change orders as requested. Working knowledge and the ability to understand concrete mixes and how to apply them for desired results. Properly tie rebar, wire mesh and setup concrete forms for proper placement including inspecting personal protective equipment (PPE). Making, setting, and wrecking forms including the excavation, back-filling, and compaction of dirt and rock with proper benching, berming, de-watering. Experience with hand tools including the use of drills, grinders, saws including the proper placement of pipe and valve installations. Ability to lift material, equipment and tools operating forklifts loading and unloading trucks applying rigging and signaling industry best practices. Experience with operating excavation equipment including excavators, skid steers, back-hoes, compactors independently of supervision. Maintain an organized work area free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed. Perform general housekeeping and all assigned duties as directed by supervision. Supervisory Responsibilities: Assisting with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work as directed by supervision in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.   Position Requirements Qualification Requirements: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These may be varied based on specific requirements of a location or project) High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent. Requires the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired by the Concrete Pusher position leading crews in concrete placement and consolidation. Oral communication skills are required with the ability to do math and read and interpret blueprints. Must have reliable transportation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, and/or use hands and fingers to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, and/or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move and/or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of equipment, material and/or tools which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) above shoulders. Must also be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks to secure and move equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.) The employee works in high precarious places, is potentially exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, non-weather heat, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is also regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but may be loud at certain times. Extensive work-related travel.
