Description

  ICC/IPS Island Commodities/Island Pumping Services, are divisionsn of Baker Commodities, Inc.

Job Purpose: Job Purpose - Safe and timely operation of equipment and performance of duties used to process company product.

  • Operate WWTP and Press; Clean up Chemicals used – lime sulfuric acid using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Troubleshoot air pumps; mechanical pumps, clogged piping.
  • Preventative maintenance, lubrication, oil changes.
  • Operate machinery (Bone Meal production/delivery system).
  • Oil transfers to tank or tanker
  • Must be able to drive forklift, skip loader, bobcat, articulating boom lift and tractor trailers with the plant yard.
  • Load and unload material from route trucks, pallets, trays, boxes, bulk bags, tanks and other container.
  • Upon receipt of work order or oral instructions, load, unload and move materials/containers within the plant yard and work site
  • Cleans/washes work area machines, vehicles and/or other equipment.
  • Cleaning the cooking and water treatment processing equipment (cookers, dryers, augers, elevators, tankers, process tanks, Hydrocal, filters, press sludge cake, etc.).
  • Must be knowledgeable of CMPAF (Cattle Material Prohibited in Animal Feed) Material Procedure, (i.e. cattle head, brain and spine, CNS (central nervous system)
  • Operates industrial truck and electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products
  • Operates process equipment and water treatment plant as instructed
  • Light repairs, service on plant and front office utilities
  • Plant clean up using Sulfuric Acid and hot water using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to handle 120 pound jack hammer for breaking concrete.
  • Shovels loose materials into machine hoppers, self dumping hopper and vehicles or pit
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • Tank Inventory
  • Operating small tanker trucks (non CDL) to service cooking oil bins and c-1s (if no IPS/ICC drivers available)
  • Exchange drums, C-1 and Black Bins if they have been serviced (oil removed) (if no IPS/ICC drivers available)
  • Clean C-1s and Black Bins using Sulfuric Acid and hot water using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Deliver Bone Meal to loading docks using vehicles below CDL weight limits
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications (Knowledge Siklls Abilities, professional certifications, education, experience, travel requirements)

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable MVR
  • Prior forklift experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a production setting preferred
  • Must be able to climb and not be afraid of heights
  • Must be able to frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 60 pounds
  • Less than 5% travel requirement

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Move and transport materials up to 50-100 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials that are hot or hazardous chemical materials

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance
  • Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material
  • Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift or other mechanical equipment

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removed
  • Electronically and manually completes logs/reports
  • Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties
