We take pride in our commitment to quality and excellence. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Lead Driver & Driver Trainer for our Georgia Distribution Center. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced driver to join our team and contribute to the safe and accurate delivery of building materials to designated job sites within subdivisions in all markets served by the company.

Lead Driver Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently execute material deliveries to designated job sites within subdivisions, ensuring accurate and timely service.
  • Utilize company tablets for tracking and verifying materials at each job site delivery.
  • Apply extensive product knowledge, including exterior and interior doors, trim packages, blinds, hardware, and other relevant materials.
  • Optimize delivery routes through effective route navigation, contributing to overall efficiency.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of deliveries, promptly reporting any discrepancies and following quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to delivery helpers, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections on assigned trucks, ensuring safety and readiness.
  • Effectively resolve any on-road or job site problems, coordinating with dispatch for timely solutions.

Driver Trainer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive training programs for new drivers, focusing on safe transportation practices, route navigation, and efficient delivery procedures.
  • Provide on-road instruction to new drivers, emphasizing safe driving practices and adherence to company policies.
  • Instruct on the effective use of company tablets for accurate material tracking at each job site delivery.
  • Transfer extensive product knowledge to new drivers, covering all relevant materials and building products.
  • Train drivers on efficient route navigation to optimize delivery routes and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Instill a commitment to accuracy and quality in deliveries, teaching new drivers to promptly report discrepancies and adhere to quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide mentorship to new drivers, emphasizing safe material handling practices and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct thorough training on pre-trip inspections, emphasizing the importance of truck safety and readiness.
  • Act as a resource for problem resolution, offering guidance and solutions to challenges faced by new drivers.

  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to guide and mentor a team of drivers.

Extensive Driving Experience:

  • A seasoned driver with a strong track record of safe driving and adherence to industry standards.

Effective Communication:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to facilitate seamless interaction with team members, trainees, and company stakeholders.

Teaching and Mentoring Skills:

  • The ability to impart knowledge effectively, mentor new drivers, and foster a culture of safety and excellence.

Adaptability:

  • Demonstrated adaptability to various driving situations and a commitment to problem-solving.

Commitment to Safety:

  • A dedication to safety, with an impeccable driving record and a focus on promoting safe driving practices.

Physical Capability:

  • Physical strength and capability to demonstrate manual loading and unloading procedures, lifting up to 50+ lbs. repetitively.
