Service and Sales Representative (SSR) 


Description

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The service and sales representative must astutely divide time between five key areas of activity. They are: customer service and developing close relationships with each account, sales of companion products and development of new accounts, mechanical preventative maintenance of equipment, collection of accounts receivable and daily bank deposits, and safe driving.  The representative must provide high quality service to our customers and consistently increase revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Maintains strong relationships with each customer so that trust and respect are mutually maintained.
  2. Manages all route stops on the scheduled day and in accordance with customer wishes.  Advises management when schedules cannot be maintained or completed.  Recommends route changes for service and efficiency.
  3. Active in promoting and selling Auto-Chlor services and companion product sales for all accounts.  Meets or exceeds company goals.   Goal is companion sales in 100% of all route accounts, and a minimum of one new account lead generated by each service and sales representative per sales period.  Ratio of companion product sales to machine billing should be greater than 35%.
  4. Performs all preventive maintenance on Auto-Chlor machinery at each customer location with goal to reduce and prevent service calls.  Maintains a service ratio of 1/$2500 or better.  Reviews machine use and preventative maintenance with each customer.
  5. Trains customer staff as needed.  Teaches customers to use safe guidelines and good judgment in operating Auto-Chlor equipment.
  6. Increases rates and completes new service agreements with current customers on a regular basis.
  7. Maintains chemical product and dispensement levels to prevent out of product service calls while avoiding excess inventory and high expense to the customer. 
  8.  Completes all paperwork and deposits in a timely and accurate manner to include: invoices, summary sheets, route cards, load cards, customer information sheets, customer service reports, and dishwashing machine agreements.
  9. Maintains route customers on a cash or current payment basis in accordance with company credit policies, and as directed by the accounts receivable or branch manager.
  10. Maintains personal and assigned vehicle legal compliance with all federal, state, and local laws for hauling hazardous materials.  Is fully knowledgeable of and complies completely with all regulations and safety procedures.  Acts in a safe manner at all times.
  11. Maintains vehicle’s tools and equipment in safe and efficient operating condition.  Keeps the route vehicle and on-call vehicle in a clean, safe and organized condition so that relief personnel can easily locate parts and tools.
  12. Uses route vehicle and personal appearance to create a positive image of Auto-Chlor to its customers and the general public.  Operates all vehicles in a safe and legal manner using good defensive driving technique.
  13. Establishes personal safety of oneself, Auto-Chlor employees, customers and the general public as a high priority.  Carefully monitors the security and use of Auto-Chlor property to include: collected funds, vehicles, tools, products, parts, and equipment.
  14. Works “on call” in a cycle established by the branch manager to support customer service on evenings and weekends. Handles service calls during the day as needed and assigned.
  15. Strives to grow in product and equipment knowledge with emphasis on sales skills.

 

 

Position Requirements
  1. Able to lift 75 pounds frequently throughout the day.
  2. Must have a clean and insurable driving record and valid license.
  3. High mechanical aptitude
  4. Customer service experience
  5. Product or service sales experience
  6. Available for on-call and emergency service schedules
