The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a full time Nursing Supervisor II for our North Campus. This position will perform complex professional and advanced human support work in the care and treatment of patients in a public health program, planning, organizing and supervising the daily operation of assigned program and staff, ensuring programs meet client needs within regulatory requirements, monitoring contracts, monitoring program budgets, preparing and maintaining files and records, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Nurse Manager. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel.
Essential Functions
Supervises staff to ensure completion of work plans; assigns, directs, and inspects the work of staff; coaches, counsels, and evaluates staff performance; makes recommendations regarding hiring and disciplinary actions.
Delivers direct nursing services to clients; administers medications; draws blood and performs urine drug screens; assists psychiatrists, physicians and nurse practitioners in tracking lab results.
Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements and evaluates medical needs of clients; takes vital signs; collaborates with other treatment providers; prepares medical history.
Assists with the coordination of admission and discharges of clients to the program; collaborates with pharmacy; transcribes orders.
Assists clinical staff with case management; attends treatment team meetings and staff meetings.
Maintains or oversees unit schedule for all hourly staff; assists with accuracy of payroll.
Facilitates and/or coordinates nursing and psycho-educational groups with clients.
Orders and manages stock medications
Provides teaching and education to those receiving services.
Coordinates care for clients receiving contracted services
Provides necessary training to staff.
Reviews and monitors medical records for accuracy and completeness; manages medical record deficiencies.
Conducts meetings to discuss client/program/staff concerns or changes; consults with teams and committees in the planning and development of treatment and discharge plans; coordinates anticipated medical needs of clients for admissions and discharges of clients.
Participates in 24-hour on call rotation as assigned to address nursing related issues throughout the campus
Performs duties as a staff registered nurse as necessary
Individual must be willing to work day time hours Monday-Friday and participate in on call roatation as required.
