The Graphics Designer shall provide advanced graphics design support the update and maintenance of media, graphics, visualizations, dashboards, and other presentations to effectively communicate supported program, project, work stream, and line of effort goals, objectives, and activities to stakeholders defined by the government.  The Graphic Designer will ensure that all designs meet federal standards for accessibility, security, and branding.

This position is fully remote working with a DHS Client in Washington, DC.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop visually engaging designs for federal government projects, including but not limited to marketing materials, presentations, reports, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, and government clients to understand project goals, audience, and compliance requirements.
  • Interpret and adhere to federal guidelines, including Section 508 accessibility standards, branding guidelines, and security protocols, to ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements.
  • Create and modify graphics, illustrations, and layouts using industry-standard design software while maintaining consistency with federal branding and design standards.
  • Implement feedback from government clients and internal stakeholders to refine designs and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Stay informed about changes in federal regulations, policies, and guidelines related to design and accessibility to ensure compliance in all deliverables.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify that all design assets meet federal standards for accessibility, security, and usability.
  • Collaborate with vendors, printers, and other external partners to oversee the production process and ensure final deliverables meet federal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of design files, approvals, and project specifications to support audit and compliance efforts.
  • Provide design expertise and support to project teams, including training on federal design requirements and best practices as needed.
 
Position Requirements
  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a federal contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to graphic design, including Section 508 accessibility standards, branding guidelines, and security requirements.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with federal government projects and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and government clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in design execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of print production processes and file preparation for both print and digital media.

Clearance Requirement US Citizenship required. DHS public trust preferred. Ability to obtain public trust clearance required.
