Join us at Stier Supply Company and contribute your expertise to our dynamic finance environment Job Responsibilities: Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations ensuring understanding of the balance sheet activity and obtaining sufficient documentation to support the balances. Research, analyze, and resolve variances occurring from reconciliations. Identify issues of recurring nature; develop and implement recommend solutions. Maintain fixed asset register & capital expenditure reporting; update depreciation expense for additions and removals; reconcile cost and accumulated depreciation schedules to GL, and work with auditors to ensure assets are recorded, assigned reasonable useful lives and depreciation expense is accurate. Implement QuickBooks accounting software for newly formed legal entities. Manage invoicing, collections/accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger for newly formed legal entities, ensuring timely month end closing and financial accuracy. Month end journal entries as assigned. Assist Controller and CFO in review of monthly financials - identify and prepare JE's for correction, accruals and other issues that are material in nature to the financial statements. Assist as needed in year-end audit and tax returns. Evaluates existing processes to ensure fit for purpose, proposing improvements and monitoring implemented changes for sustainability and growth. Assist CFO and controller with development and implementation of accounting policies, ensuring compliance and sustainability of policies in growing environment. Special Projects as assigned by the CFO or other managers. Measures of performance: Demonstrated knowledge of company workflows and how they relate to the general ledger and financial statements. Completion of assigned responsibilities within designated due dates. Minimum 7 years of experience in general ledger accounting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Strong abilities in Excel & other MS Office applications. Experience with QuickBooks, MS Dynamics/Great Plains or other similar accounting software. Experience with BisTrack or other similar ERP. Detail orientation and problem solving. Resilient and accustomed to working in environment with tight and changing deadlines, deals well with ambiguity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
