Description

Palmer Holland is seeking individuals to join our team through our Operational Development Program. The goal of this accelerated and fast-paced program is to build our next generation of Operational professionals. The program is designed to develop high caliber individuals into future leaders in Supply Chain or Business Analytics.

Essential tasks of the position

Supply Chain:

  • Works independently and gains exposure to complex projects, providing administrative support and documentation as needed.
  • Continuously works to optimize the supply chain by improving forecast accuracy, analyzing sourcing strategies (hub spoke versus supplier direct), and deploying appropriate stocking strategies in order to improve customer on time delivery and inventory management.
  • Review all newly entered Product Customer Forecast’s to determine if and how we should best plan for the customer demand.
  • Review and set safety stock levels in order to absorb demand and supply variability in order to meet service level targets.
  • Provide forecasts to suppliers in order to help them plan for our expected future demand needs.
  • Manage and further develop the S&OP process to ensure we have organizational alignment on forecasted sales and inventory targets.
  • Actively contribute to the development and improvement of Palmer Holland’s demand planning processes
  • Manage, prioritize, and execute various ad-hoc project requests in support of purchasing, business, sales, and other cross-functional teams.

Quality:

  • Activities of the position affect quality objectives. Responsibilities and authorities include where appropriate:
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, or quality system, up to and including when necessary, stopping production to correct quality pro
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Document problems, steps taken for resolution and preventative action(s), notifying parties required.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions in areas under your control.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Perform duties and tasks as prescribed in company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree supply chain, business, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years of experience and/or equivalent coursework

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office and Contact Management Software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct that exemplifies the corporate policies at all times, particularly when interacting directly with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Detail oriented with strong, accurate clerical skills.
  • Proficient at multi-tasking
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Highly motivated
