SRM has twelve leading fellowship-trained Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology specialists with expertise in infertility testing, treatment, male infertility (two on-site urologists), IVF, donor egg, donor sperm, artificial insemination, egg freezing etc. Additional services include acupuncture, counseling, infertility support group, genetics, tubal reversal, vasectomy reversal and fertility assessments for women concerned about reproductive aging. We currently have six locations in: Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Kirkland, Everett and Spokane.

Summary:

The CMA will assist the provider in the delivery of medical care to clinic patients. Maintain high customer service skills with all patient interactions. The CMA is accountable for the performance of tasks and responsibilities within the framework of supportive and restorative care under the direction of the clinic physician. Under the general direction of the Manager, the position is responsible for being an effective multitask oriented individual that provides healthcare services and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of duties and responsibilities.

We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) that will sit out of our Seattle clinic. This will be a full time, full-benefits, 40 hours a week position. The Medical Assistant position has various shifts available! Starting times are between 6:45am-7:45am and ending times are between 3:45-4:25 with required weekends 6:45am-2:30pm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, stocks, and maintains supplies for the blood drawing stations.
  • Performs phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions.
  • Ensures lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
  • Cleans and cares for all equipment according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Documents patient care services utilizing daily logs, patient records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms.
  • Utilizes the computer in entering labs and printing labels. Ensures orders for lab work are in place. Contacts primary nurse for order if needed.
  • Performs semen washes (not applicable at all locations).
  • Sets up and rooms patients for ultrasounds and procedures, assists physicians or ultrasound technicians. Procedures include, but are not limited to: IUIs, endometrial biopsies, HSGs, OHs, PAP smears, ultrasounds, uterine soundings, and physical examinations.
  • Patient intake: including vital signs, patient height and weight, and obtaining recent medication history.
  • Cleans and stocks rooms, cleans and cares for equipment and instruments according to OSHA and SRM guidelines.
  • Assists in maintaining medical records.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other health care support if needed.
  • Authorized to receive and disseminate lab results from in-house and outside laboratories to the patient’s RN for review and follow up as necessary.
  • Communicates results to patients via call backs under the supervision of the nurse.
  • Assists in the OR as assigned. Knowledgeable of proper aseptic technique and set up/use of equipment.
  • Participates in medication administration.
  • Conducts injection training classes.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Calls in prescriptions and medication refills at the direction of patient care coordinators and/or physicians.
  • Assists with prior authorizations and facilitating referrals for outside services.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support.
  • Provides patient education regarding clarification of physician instructions, medication instruction, and anticipatory guidance under the supervision of the nurse.
  • Assures quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards; follows physician practice and nursing division philosophies, as well as standards of care set by the state and other governing agency regulations.
  • Assures patients are greeted with prompt attention and caring attitude.
  • Directs patients to the financial department for assistance.
  • Takes responsibility for pursuing patient complaints in a customer service orientated fashion.
  • Participates in resolving patient problems and needs if necessary.
  • Treats all patients and coworkerswith respect, dignity, and care.
  • Provide as much information as appropriate to involve patients in their treatment.
 
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Washington State Certified Medical Assistant License required.
  • Maintain updated BLS license
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement, patient service, and team building.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Covers weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Works in locations other than employee’s home office when requested.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and participates in resolving problems identified.
