Lead Patient Coordinator-Cardiology

Description

The Lead Patient Coordinator greet patients as they come in for and leave their appointments and act as practice ambassadors (excellent customer service orientation). It is their direct responsibility to help keep the flow of patients into and out of the clinical areas without sacrificing the collection and input of correct demographic and insurance information. When working the reception desk, the coordinators act as a liaison to get patients accurately signed in and moved into the clinical area with accurate tracking of time while patients go through each station of the encounter. When assigned to the check out stations, they act as a liaison to expedite the coordination of care by capturing and executing through SPM/GEMMS all post-encounter orders. It is their responsibility to ensure that patients are accurately registered and that all proper paperwork has been filled out completely including waivers when necessary and that copays have been collected . Lead Patient Coordinator is responsible for posting all copays collected into InstaMed and are responsible for reconciling individually collected receipts with amounts posted and will report and resolve any overages or shortages each day. Monitors patient coordinators making sure staff acts as practice ambassadors (excellent customer service orientation). Responsible for observing keeping track of the flow of patients into and out of the clinical areas without sacrificing the collection and input correct demographics and insurance information.

Position Requirements
  • High School Degree required
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level of knowledge of front desk, scheduling, insurance carrier requirements, and copays/deductibles/coinsurances.
  • A coordinator has the ability to organize and coordinate assignments independently.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal time management, organizational skills.
  • High level of confidentiality,tact and diplomacy in interacting with patients, staff and insurance carriers.

 

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with health care front desk, reception, or billing.
  • Experience using a registration, scheduling, and/or billing program required.
