Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Ultrasonographer to join our team. As an Ultrasonographer in our fertility clinic, you will play a critical role in assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of patients seeking fertility care. You will utilize your expertise in ultrasound imaging to perform examinations and provide accurate and detailed reports. Your role will contribute to the overall success and positive patient outcomes of our fertility treatments.

This Ultrasonographer will sit out of our Huron clinic. This is a full-time, full-benefits, 40 hours a week position. The hours will be Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm.

Responsibilities:

Ultrasound Imaging:

  • Perform ultrasound examinations, including transvaginal and abdominal scans, to evaluate pelvic structures, monitor follicular development, assess uterine and ovarian function, and diagnose reproductive abnormalities.
  • Use advanced ultrasound equipment and techniques to obtain high-quality images and recordings.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in capturing and documenting diagnostic images, measurements, and annotations.
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout the ultrasound procedures.

Diagnostic Assessment and Reporting:

  • Analyze and interpret ultrasound images, identifying normal and abnormal findings related to fertility and reproductive health.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic assessments and assist in treatment planning.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing ultrasound findings and provide them to the referring physician in a timely manner.
  • Maintain thorough and organized documentation of ultrasound reports and patient records.

Patient Care and Education:

  • Establish and maintain a professional and compassionate rapport with patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Explain ultrasound procedures to patients, including the purpose and process.
  • Educate patients on the role of ultrasound in their fertility journey.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their ultrasound examinations.

Equipment Maintenance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment, performing routine quality assurance checks to guarantee optimal image quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and promptly report any malfunctions or deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Stay updated with advancements in sonography techniques and fertility-related ultrasound practices.
 
Position Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer, preferably in a fertility clinic or reproductive medicine setting.
  • Expertise in performing transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds for reproductive health assessment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting ultrasound images and accurately documenting findings.
  • Strong knowledge of fertility-related ultrasound procedures, terminology, and reproductive anatomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and imaging software.
  • Willingness to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
