We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist with supervisory experience.  Great opportunity at our Greenwood location.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Directly oversees the daily operations of the phlebotomy team and processes. Collects specimens from patients and prepares these specimens for in-house or send out testing. Also requires some testing of some CLIA waived exams, use of computers and associated software.

  1. Constant analysis of workflow and redirection of staff.
  2. Assures a culture of proper patient PR and teamwork.
  3. Learns the finer points of the LIS order entry features.
  4. Directly observes that all policies are being followed.
  5. Pulls staff aside and counsels when policies aren’t followed or bad behavior is demonstrated.
  6. Scheduling of the department.
  7. Provides feedback on staff performance evaluations and disciplinary action.
  8. Trains new employees and students.
  9. Establish and maintain communication with physicians and physician office employees to exchange information regarding patient results.
Position Requirements


  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Office skills including telephone etiquette.
  3. At least two years work experience as Phlebotomist.
  4. Six weeks on-the-job training.


  1. Works independently following established procedures and policies.
  2. Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail; errors with mislabeling samples could cause error in diagnosis and treatment.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the organization.
