ORM Fertility is an internationally recognized fertility clinic comprised of five physicians sub-specialized in Reproductive Endocrinology, full-time genetic counselors, cutting-edge Embryologists and a team of very talented clinicians and administrators

Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will assist the provider in the delivery of medical care to clinic patients. Maintain high customer service skills with all patient interactions. The CMA is accountable for the performance of tasks and responsibilities within the framework of supportive and restorative care under the direction of the clinic physician. Under the general direction of the Manager, the position is responsible for being an effective multi task oriented individual that provides healthcare services, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of duties and responsibilities.

We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant that will sill sit out out of our Downtown Portland clinic. This will be a full time, full-benefits, 40 hours a week position. Must be available Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, with flexible weekend availability, generally working half days 2x per month from 7:00am-11:00am and rotating holidays required.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying patient information and recording pertinent medical data
  • Measuring vital signs
  • Ensuring accurate patient flow
  • Assisting in patient care
  • Completes diagnostic coding and procedure coding
  • Preparing patients for minor procedures
  • Injection education and instruction
  • Medication education and instruction
  • Practice Phlebotomy
  • Counseling patients by transmitting practitioner's orders
  • Surgery Scheduling
  • Maintain inventory of clinical and surgical supplies
  • Completing test requisitions and imaging orders
  • Maintaining equipment and performing preventative maintenance
  • Cleaning and maintaining clinical instruments
  • Processing medical records
  • Processing Prior Authorizations
  • Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge
  • Adheres to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal and state requirements
  • Appropriately use relative computer applications
  • Process prescription refill requests

 

 
Position Requirements

 

  • Valid BLS/CPR Card
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board.
  • Must be Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period.
  • Encompass essential medical knowledge and terminology
  • Strong Phlebotomy skills
  • General knowledge of surgical practice and techniques
  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic technique
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
