Description

George School, a Quaker boarding/day grades 9-12 college preparatory school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA has an opening for a Children’s Center Director.

The primary role of the Director is to provide leadership for the George School Children’s Center (GSCC). The Director is responsible for: articulating and supporting the pedagogical and programmatic vision of GSCC; developing and managing the GSCC operating budget; supervising, supporting, and evaluating the teaching staff; ensuring that staff and families are aware of GSCC policies; implementing procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines and expectations; communicating with families and staff about schedules and curriculum; and complying with external standards and regulations.

The Director works with the Human Resources Director to ensure that the Center operates smoothly, safely, professionally, and in the best interests of the children and of George School. The Director is expected to work toward ensuring that respectful and professional relationships exist among members of the GSCC community and with the wider George School community so that all children, families, and staff have high-quality experiences.

Our program integrates nature and the exploration of George School’s beautiful campus into the curriculum. Our natural play spaces stimulate children’s imagination and curiosity and expose them to opportunities to explore, question, and develop theories about the world they live in. Being outdoors in all sorts of weather extends our children’s investigations and encourages spontaneous exploration and movement. Based on their observations of the children working and playing outdoors, our teachers frequently use the outdoor setting as a classroom space, maximizing their classes’ learning opportunities.

We offer a full benefits package, paid meals, reimbursement of clearances, professional development and a great working environment.
