QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Accurately carries out the provider x-ray orders in compliance.
  • Communicates effectively with the patient by explaining the procedure.
  • Positions the patient correctly in compliance with the procedure book.
  • Makes correct exposure for patient and staff safety and diagnostic clarity, including correct film markers.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated communication skills to effectively communicate with management, providers, and patients.
  • Operational knowledge of telephones, fax machines, postage machines, and other office equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with peers in a team situation and create a positive work environment for team members.
  • Demonstrate a functional and technical understanding of applicable scheduling and billing software, Intranet and Internet usage, Excel/Word software, E-mail Usage and Web-based applications. Required to check e-mail daily and use as a source of internal and external communication. Required to understand and utilize electronic medical record technology.

  • Ability to perform x-ray independently and according to age specific criteria using a variety of different X-ray equipment.
  • Accurately registers and discharges patients according to service standards.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing patient needs.
  • Maintains X-ray files and supplies.
  • Maintains X-ray discrepancy log.
  • Performs quality control and trouble shoots equipment.
  • Cross-trained to complete other clinical responsibilities. Rooming patients, POC testing, etc.

Position Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

  • Proof of graduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, Rad Tech. license thru the State of Indiana, and AART certification, preferred.

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year clinical experience in acute care or an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation)
